this is an amazing movie....just saw today at the film festival....showing how people (women) are making a difference in their countries....it was very moving
for me....
wish more people like this were given more attention for the wonderful good they do instead of so much attention brought on to rich, famous and powerful people.... these are poor people helping others.... i highly recommend you seeing this one if you are into documentaries.... http://www.apowerfulnoise.org/ We do not need to be the same, or think the same But we can hold hands as fellow travelers in this life. |

another documentary...this one won at our film festival...
this woman won the nobel peace prize....first african woman... she gives her time to help rural women by suggesting they plant trees to help their environment which in turn helped them from poverty, political oppression, ignorance etc. http://takingrootfilm.com/ We do not need to be the same, or think the same But we can hold hands as fellow travelers in this life. |

We don't watch too many movies and usually not until they hit the video store.
This weekend we watched The Great Debaters ~ excellent! Denzel Washington both acted and directed. Pretty timely flick, about a black college debating team who get the opportunity to debate Harvard's famous team. Based on a true story. ~ ~

I heard there was a screening yesterday in Beverly Hills. Did anyone go see? I heard it was great. I hope FUEL succeeds as it deserves to be.

We went to see 7 pounds, very interesting but the main character can't seem to find his personal redemption and that was disturbing from my perspective.
Thats really all that can be said for now anything more would spoil it, its a good film though.
The first peace, which is the most important, is that which comes within the souls of people when they realize their relationship, their oneness, with the universe and all its powers, and when they realize that at the center of the universe dwells the Great Spirit, and that this center is really everywhere, it is within each of us. |

I went to see this one today, and really, really liked it. It was 3 hours long, but outside of my butt noticing it, I was okay with the length. There were
funny parts, and touching parts, and mostly I noticed that I was pretty much wearing a big smile through most of the movie. I enjoyed all the performances -
Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett, and Tilda Swinton being the main actors. Two snaps and a twirl.
