Does anyone know anything about gentle yoga and pre-eclampsia? I have a private student about a month out from delivery who has just been diagnosed with pre-eclampsia. Her doctor told her bed rest, no exercise, no yoga. Our sessions are super gentle - meditation, breathing, gentle movements for joint mobility, sitting or lying back on an inclined bolster. She wants to continue our twice a week sessions because they make her feel better, reduce stress and anxiety and stiffness. So, between the two of us we're trying to find some more info on this that she can talk with her doctor about.
Gordon or Rona or anyone - do you know anything about the safety of very gentle yoga and pre-eclampsia? Do even gentle movements put further strain on the kidneys? If nothing else, we can just do meditation and breathing and savasana-type stuff. Thanks in advance.
