So, we did it! ...and it was great. Sapphire came to Philadelphia, we recorded a bunch of her beautiful tunes here at the house and she joined Marianne and
me last night in a performance at the Philadelphia Society for Arts, Literature and Music. We were battling beautiful "go to the Jersey shore"
weather (first weekend day in weeks without a devasting thunderstorm), a free rock concert on the Parkway featuring a massive fireworks show and goodness knows
what else, so it was underattended, but that was their loss... I thought that the music was wonderful... and the concert was recorded live professionally, so
you will hear much of it. (Marianne really played some nice stuff on flute... you are going to love it! ...and Kevin MacConnell and Doc Gibbs!... oh, it was
sweet!)
That which began for me at the 2009 gathering as a "we really have to record this wonderful music" is now a step further.
So, for those who loved Sapphire's music, check back here from time to time over the next few weeks. As we get tracks produced, we will be certain to let you all in on it!!
