Haven't seen it but those are two very good actors! I'd see it just because of them. Haven't seen the Pride and Prejudice version you mention
either, but the version with Garson and Olivier is great, and so is the book.

I loved yes man. I haven't been to the movies in a few weeks....time for me to get out there... We do not need to be the same, or think the same But we can hold hands as fellow travelers in this life. |

I did it ...I took myself to the movies....when you see it ...tell me what you think. I was called "Enlighten UP!".....a Kate Churchill, documentary
about a young male, novice yoga student who travels around the world in order to find out what yoga is all about....interesting, a hidden agenda on the part of
the film maker...makes me think of what is my hidden agenda, sometimes....hummmm

"Is anybody there?" starring Michael Caine....loved it
Synopsis: Boy A director John Crowley followed up that award-winning film festival favorite with this eerie yet eloquent drama concerning a young boy fascinated by death due to the fact that he lives in the hospice home for the elderly that's owned by his parents. Perhaps due to the morose surroundings in which he was raised, wide-eyed Edward (Son of Rambow star Bill Milner) possesses both an acute sense of death and an obsessive desire to find out what happens after we pass on from this life. |

Suzanne asked this a few pages ago...
Has anyone seen The Soloist? I think I might go see it today or tomorrow. |

I still haven't seen it Susie. I wanted to but then after reading all the reviews was still totally on the fence about it. I finally decided to get it on
DVD when it comes out. Let me know what you think if you see it.

I saw it yesterday. I liked it.
I just love Robert Downey Jr. and Jamie Foxx played a great schizophrenic. I am glad I didn't read the reviews because I might not have gone to see it. One review I just read after the fact said the actors were great but the storyline lacked focus. I thought the lack of focus added to the mood, the busy newspaper office, the chaotic streets of LA. And the music was like an instant soothing calming oasis. I have never really had any contact with homeless people. It made me realize how fortunate and sheltered and privileged (and selfish) I am. |

Glad to hear you liked it. Okay, if I can find a place that's showing it I will go see it too.

The Story of India | ||
|
For those of you on NetFlix.....it's a 2 disc (6 hours) documentary from PBS about India. Just finished the first disc and thought it was very well done.
The history, sights, sounds, music....I would recommend it. The 2nd disc I'm about to begin - I think - will bring us up to modern times.
P.S. someone mentioned not reading reviews because you might not see an otherwise great film - I agree. (Comments on NetFlix reviews about India were that they thought the narrator/star, Michael Woods, was condescending.) My husband rented Valkyire - the Tom Cruise movie - and though I was not interested in seeing it, I watched it and found it interesting and suspenseful. My husband, the history buff, thought so as well. |

thanks I put it on my queue....I don't listen to the reviews much either....
we all have different likes..whose to say cause one person didn;t like it...that I wouldn;t I really like "different" and unusual movies.. I watch lots of the independents....lots of foreign.... we have a cool theatre here that shows those most of the time. I have friends that will NOT watch close captioned (foreign) movies....think they are missing out on some good films though We do not need to be the same, or think the same But we can hold hands as fellow travelers in this life. |
