Those colourings are gorgeous! Your birding buddy is indeed an excellent photographer. It's great that you both have the same rig - he is going to make a
very good partner to pass on hints!

I got into the lesson this morning and told the teacher that I had a problem I couldn't figure out. At her suggestion, I re-read the page in the manual on that exposure compensation, while she was making me some tea....duh! everything I needed to know was in front of my face...I just sorta missed it yesterday. The camera is fine...whew! And she liked my photos from yesterday. So, I'm finished with the learning the digital camera part - of course, needing much practice and refinement, but at least (mostly) understanding the basics. Now I move on to learning how to use Photoshop Elements 7. This will be a fun summer. I am enjoying, no matter how slowly, the experience of stretching my brain to learn something new again. The last thing I tried was classical guitar, back in the early 2000's. I enjoyed that too, but since you have to have long fingernails on one hand, it just wasn't working with my paid gigs performing with my piano quartet. The nails had to go....and so did the classical guitar. Oh well...at least I got the chance to try...it was something I'd wanted to do my whole life. |

i'm glad your camera is fine
as is your brain just like it's pretty difficult to actually break a computer (other than dropping it or programs glitching) i think the same is true for other electronics like cameras glad your eyes got it to your brain today perfectly and look forward to seeing some of your beautiful shots more often now! you have such beautiful shells and creatures in your local waters! can't wait to see what intrigues your eye! rona

I am so grateful tonight for Facebook. Dear, dear, dear old friends from way back, since I was 8 years old, reconnected with me this past week. Somehow those
thirty-five years since I last saw them have flown past, and we talked like it was yesterday. Sometimes technology is a pain in the wazoo, but this is one case
where I love the way the world has evolved.

Susan, do you think they found you because you changed your name to include your maiden name and stuff?
I too am grateful for FB! |

Not with one of them...she found my brother first.... who then gave her all the rest of my family's contact info. She then called me. But the second one, I
found on FB....because I was now friends on FB with that first one. They're sisters.
The addition of the maiden name was a key component of connecting with the second sister. It's tough when women marry and then remarry.....all the name changes, and suddenly.... *poof*....you've vanished. The hard thing on FB is...if you look up a name, and there's no picture - just that white pawn-piece blob. My maiden name isn't common, that's for sure, but there were three pages of people with my same maiden name! Argh! Many of them were pawn-piece people, with no picture...so how are you gonna know? People can move anywhere, so hometown doesn't factor in like you'd think. Anyway, you can bet your sweet bippy that there's no one else on FB with my maiden, first husband's, and now second husband's names all strung together. Maybe it looks ridiculous....but it definitely hones in. |

Today I'm grateful for:
My MIS sangha and all the love, help and sharing, and especially, all the shenanigans, that go on here....this month marks my 7th year on board (yes, Ronaji and Caseyji, it's your anniversary too!), even though I lurked back in '99.
The gift/opportunity/ability to travel. The girl who will come here to take care of my cat, so that I don't have to leave him in a cage at the vet's office
Sunny days
Waking up again today! You just never know when your last time to greet the day will be....so ...SAY IT LOUD TODAY.... HELLOOOOOOOO, WORLD!!!!! What you got up your sleeve for me today? |
