"Every now and again take a good look at something not made with hands - a mountain, a star, the turn of a stream. There will come to you wisdom and
patience and solace, and above all, the assurance that you are not alone in the world."

Those six words say a lot.
Do you think there are absolute truths, or an absolute truth other than the self-referencing quotation, that applies universally to all conditions?

A few good ones for today.... including some chuckles at the end...
"Count your blessings, name them one by one." - Children's song "You don't have to change that much for it to make a great deal of difference. A few simple disciplines can have a major impact on how your life works out in the next 90 days, let alone in the next 12 months or the next 3 years." -- Jim Rohn "Probably nothing in the world arouses more false hopes than the first four hours of a diet." - Dan Bennett "Clutter is the same thing as junk. It just has a home." - Author unknown |

Re: the Tagore quote...Cora Wen posted it on FB the other day.
This led me to a search of his quotations. Here are three more: I have spent my days stringing and unstringing my instrument while the song I came to sing remains unsung. Life is perpetually creative because it contains in itself that surplus which ever overflows the boundaries of the immediate time and space, restlessly pursuing its adventure of expression in the varied forms of self-realization. Praise shames me, for I secretly beg for it.

It is the circle of words. I know nothing and of that I am not sure. No in this moment I do not hold to absolute truths, but I am willing to put that feeling
down.
I perceive the teachings of the world to be the illusion of magicians. I discern the highest conception of emancipation as a golden brocade in a dream, and view the holy path of the illuminated ones as flowers appearing in one's eyes. I see meditation as a pillar of a mountain, Nirvana as a nightmare of daytime. I look upon the judgment of right and wrong as the serpentine dance of a dragon, and the rise and fall of beliefs as but traces left by the four seasons." a buddha |
