Marcus Aurelius:
"If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself but to your own estimate of it; and this you have the power to revoke at any moment." And this - not my sentiments, but something to chew on for when you're feeling low... Colette: "What a wonderful life I've had! I only wish I'd realized it sooner." Susan |

I have so many. I need to start collecting them in a book! A few of my favorites:
~A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart And can sing it back to you When you've forgotten the words. ~Don't believe everything you think. ~What's for ye will no go by ye. EK ONG KAR, SAT NAM, SIRI WHA (HE) GURU

Re: words for each day | ||

I came across this quote a several years ago and found its words perfect at that time. Since taking up yoga the word surrender has taken on a different significance. I hadn't read it for a while; it was Susan's post about the al-anon literature in the Gratitude thread that brought it back to mind
"I once visited a weavers school, where the students were making beautiful patterns. I asked, When you make a mistake, must you cut it out and start from the beginning? A student said, No. Our teacher is such a great artist that when we make a mistake, he uses it to improve the beauty of the pattern. That is what the Lord does with our mistakes. He is the greatest artist, but we must surrender. Surrender your blunders to the Lord. He can use them to make the pattern of your life more beautiful". -Corrie ten Boom |

Lovely, girls.
Here are two for today: "When we cannot change a situation, resolution comes through the way we choose to handle it within ourselves." (Do I hear a Let Go and Let God here? and "Fear is a darkroom where negatives are developed." Susan |

Susan,
This thread is happening woman!!!! (or is this a topic within the Everyday Sacred thread?) Whatever, it rocks!!! The way we choose to handle situations, now that is the key! Gotta love Dr. Suess too! He know where it's at, what really matters!!! Suzi, Love the one about the weaver's school and mistakes. Needed to hear that today!!! Thanks!! Yes, may my mistakes increase the beauty of the pattern in surrender!!!! In All Our Relations!!!!! Quote: Kathleen |

This morning, I've had the refrain from an old song running through my head: "Happiness, happiness, the greatest gift that I posses I thank the Lord I've been blessed With more than my share of happiness" I have a strong sense of being truly blessed this morning - for no reason in particular Here are the rest of the verses to the song Suzi |
