Pregosaurus and I are now past week 20. Detailed ultrasound results were good. Have kept wife strapped in bed for the last 5 months to prevent any mishaps.

She's sleeping a lot more this time and I'm reminding her to take it easy and take care of herself. Her body is giving her more signals this time, and she's paying attention to them more.
Oh yeah, no boinky boinky. Doctors orders. Living a monks life. Well, not really.... but close.

I'm thinking non-popping thoughts - imagining a nice rounded belly, with baby all tucked up and warm inside...
Congratulations to all three of you! Suzi |

Sri, we're not really planning anything yet. We haven't discussed it, but we're just sort of holding our breath still.... My thinking is 24 weeks is the start of when a premie is viable, so when we get there, I'll exhale.... I'm trying in the meantime to enjoy the experience as much as possible. She snores like a buzz saw
Rona, I sing funny songs to her We have been discussing names... I was thinking about cowboy names like Tex, Slim and Hoss, but she didn't like those for some reason. My brother sent me a link to a site that people sent in their ideas for baby names and the guy commented on them... it's funny.... www.notwithoutmyhandbag.com/babynames/1.html Alan |

Loved this... Quote: Remember good old Siouxie and the Banshees? Can't you just imagine your typical ignorant American with that one..."Let's see now...is that Sy-ox-ee?" |

Speaking of songs I've been singing one in particular that I made up for her. (sung to the music of "Oh Christmas Tree") Oh Pregosaur, Oh Pregosaur, I love your prego belly. I love your belly, big and round You prob'bly weigh three hundred pounds Oh Pregosaur, Oh Pregosaur I love your prego belly. For some reason, she doesn't seem to appreciate all the effort it takes to come up with a song for her. I don't understand why. Any insights? Alan |

Re: Cross your Legs and think good thoughts | ||

Hmm....let's think....let's imagine YOU gained weight (and half the reason was attributed to your partner) and your "beloved" made up a song about how you looked like a dinosaur, indicating the number of pounds you now weighed, singing it to you constantly.
Now imagine yourself smiling and feeling all gooey inside. Doesn't quite "imagine", does it? Instead, imagine your beloved singing a song about how beautiful you now looked, praising your weight gain as being the perfect environment to house your miracle the two of you made together. That might bring about a real beam of joy. I know it's all "in jest", but actually, your song is probably a bit like hearing nails on the chalkboard to Narine. If it were me, I'd probably give you a thump on the head, and keep those legs clamped together a little longer than the old doc suggested.... Susan |

All the stuff Susan says and a warning that you may never get close enough to her ever again to try practicing for a second bun in the oven if you keep singing those kinds of songs.

alan,
i'll have to agree with the mums above your melody is lovely but the words they need some rearranging to enhance the romance perhaps pregasourous could be replaced with 'oh beautiful one(s)' ... teasing or joking about weight is NEVER funny unless of course you have on a fat suit i guess anyway i hope you don't REALLY sing her THAT song and DO make up a loving, inspiring one that makes her love you even more OR... out to the dog house for u! love rona |
