Glad everyone likes it! I thought it'd be fun to show everyone how it looks since it's so different. In most of my photos I have long hair, so everyone will have to re-adjust their image of me.

As far as Locks of Love goes, my hair had gotten pretty long, and I figured that I might as well grow it a few more inches before cutting it, and help out someone.

My hair is very fine, so I normally keep some layers in my hair even when it is long to give it some body. But for Locks of Love, they like the hair to be all one length. For me, it was frustrating to keep it in such a straight style toward the end.

At Christmastime, I had my hair put up in a 'do for a party, and asked the person who did it (not Amanda, my awesome hairdresser in the photo, who has done my hair for five years) to trim up my bangs. Well, that chick screwed up my bangs, and I couldn't add in any other layers in my hair to soften the effect of that. Toward the end, I was definitely excited to cut my hair and get it into a real style. But I had to wait until my bangs grew out or I didn't think it'd look too good.

I'm glad I did wait, because as it turns out Locks of Love really wants 12" - 14" lengths, and it wouldn't have been that long if I'd cut it at the beginning of 2006 like I wanted.

I'd recommend anyone to participate. A real human hair wig costs a lot of money ($3000 and up), so it's a real gift to give that to someone. It takes a bunch of locks to make a wig...6 -10...so you can't really have too many folks donating. I couldn't afford to give much money to charity this year, and it felt like a good way to give something that was within my budget.
