Hello all,
I never seem to get here as often as I would like, bummer, life hopefully is going to calm down for me this summer.
I finally, after too many years, am able to take yoga with a teacher and class, such a nice break from doing it by myself. However, small problem I would like
to ask the teachers here, or anyone else with an opinion. My first class was good, but the second he surprised me by doing some partner yoga, and I have
never done partner yoga. The third class, he did partner yoga again, this time for a bit longer, so he is extending the time we are doing partner.
Now, there were descriptions of each class put up on the net to help people decide what class is best for them before they signed up, and nothing was mentioned
in class description about partnering. Frankly I am not comfortable with it and not enjoying it at all. Also, the first person I partnered with had a bad
back, but she did not admit it to me until after we did the partnering poses, which of course were all backbends. I mean, she said she was okay that I was
very gentle, but she should have told me or the teacher beforehand she had a bad back. Do you know what I mean? I would not have signed up for this class if I
had know. Has partnering become a "normal" part of regular yoga classes, maybe I am out of touch, what I mean to say is, should it not have been
mentioned in the class description to give people a heads up? I am not ready for partner yoga, and now I have to make a choice, either sit out during that time
or stop going to the classes. bummer. opinions?
