I'd like as much discussion on this as possible before I head off to teach this evening. I'm very slowly and methodically working my way thru Moving
into Stillness and this idea is at the beginning right after the explanation of a spinning top being the stillness, and we get there in that high vibrational
place by being wholehearted.
So my definition of wholehearted is that our mind and heart are single and in agreement about what we are doing. The opposite of that would be where we are acting, but being forced, or not joyfully, or with some reservation either in mind or heart. This creates inner conflict and thus a lower vibration energetically.
Or that our spirit/mind and body are not engaged in the same activity.
I can easily see how not having mind and heart in full agreement leads to disharmony, but I'm struggling with how or why its sometimes not a good idea for the mind to be separated from the body.
I do agree that when you are listening to music or having a conversation or cooking or weeding in the garden, it's very beneficial to be there with your mind/spirit too. Especially when you are having a conversation! But when I'm at the dentist and he's drilling in my teeth, I do not want to be there with my mind! When I'm doing a routine job around the house like vacuuming, I want my mind to wander and plan and daydream.
So give me your ideas about this theme of being wholehearted, and does it mean the same as single-minded? Do you think its possible to be wholehearted about everything during an average day? Where is your struggle with being wholehearted? Another definition of wholehearted would be enthusiastic?
I don't know if its possible to be wholehearted about everything, but I know that is where growth occurs and its what I want to be moving towards all the time. I think that single minded and wholehearted are two sides of one coin. For us left-brained people, we might do better in terms of single-minded action.
