We do not need to be the same, or think the same But we can hold hands as fellow travelers in this life. |

Hi Martine. Thank you for this nice resource.
I like "Silent Retreat at Mount Madonna," too. "Most people are trying to get to the ultimate 'I,' the ultimate Self, the Self, through changing the 'Me.' Most everyone I meet in spirituality, they're so involved in changing the Me to get to the I. Right? And of course the only thing that's trying to change the Me to get to the I, is the Me. It keeps attention firmly focused on Me. Right? That karmacally conditioned, mechanical mechanism of the ego personality. The Me gets transformed by the realization of the I, of the Self. That's what transforms the Me. The Me doesn't transform the Me. All the Me ever does is rearrange the deck chairs on the Titanic." This morning I listened to No Story, No Suffering. He uses the example of his current, personal circumstance as a departure point. "In that perception, you begin to see, through your own experience, for yourself, that there isn't a problem, there can't be a problem, unless the mind is believed, unless the mind goes into relationship, starts to comment on what is, and then creates a problem."

Life Without a Story
"When we don't feel right, what most of us human beings do is we try to change everything. Right? I don't feel right so I want you to change, or I want the world to change ... I want everything to change and then I'll feel right. Or, if it gets internalized, I'm going to change Me and then I'll feel right.

The End of Your World
"And that view, that part of the picture, is going to be very hard to see, if we fixate in the absolute view, if we use the absolute view to hide from our humanness. Because our humanness is divine, and so our humanness also seeks to be really penetrated through and through with truth and with reality.

The Descent of Awakening
"From the awakened heart, as long as it's open and awakened there's absolutely no more argument with what is, or what was, or what may be. That absolute ending of argument is the tremendous openness of being, and when the argument is completely ceased, then unity is experienced."
"I made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it short."

Life Without a Center
"We all want to feel better, but when feeling better isn't anymore the prime directive, feeling better isn't driving everything we do, isn't driving even our meditation, our approach to spirituality ... we all want to feel better, we're all hooked up that way, but when it's no longer the sole driving force, when this other thing comes into our consciousness which, however you want to think about it, however you want to word it in yourself, it's basically that impulse towards what's true. Reality. What's real. That's a different impulse, you see. That's an impulse that's not dominated by the need, the psychological drive, to be happy." |
