Can anyone reccomend a good yoga nidra CD or DVD? My brother is interested in one, I would like to get it for him but have no clue on this genre.

Chaya, I had the one with the
cows and gave it away. It's ok, but I started reading about the practice at Swami J's site plus a book by Swami Rama with his commentaries on the Mandukya Upanishad, and find a much deeper
practice without a CD. If I were going to buy another CD, it would be Swami
J's which is just his voice giving instruction, no music. I also own Richard Miller's book and
CD and don't find it very useful.

I like a CD called Guided meditations for stress reduction by Bodhipaksa, who is a Scottish Buddhist teacher. There is a track on the CD called Body Scan
Meditation that is very much like Yoga Nidra. It's really wonderful; Bodhipaksa has a soothing voice and a soft Scottish accent that I really like. I also
Rod Stryker's Yoga Nidra CD called Relax into Greatness.

I have the ones from Jennifer Reis (http://www.sacredfireyoga.com/), which I bought after greatly enjoying a
Yoga Nidra session she did in a class at Kripalu. She has a great voice. I also have "the one with the cows" but I actually like it.
I have a few others but these are the ones I actually tend to use. |
