Here's how it happened to [John] Clampitt- a friend sent him a video on Facebook that he just couldn't resist checking out.

Clampitt says, "I received an email that had a "hilarious video" that i was a part of - so I couldn't help the temptation."

But when he clicked on it, it wouldn't open, and locked up his entire system.

Clampitt says, "The most scary was the fear of having lost everything in my computer because I've never had a major virus... very alarming."

Clute says once you've clicked on the fatal link, the virus basically turns your computer into a zombie... infecting all of your files, recording every keystroke, and even gaining remote access to your computer.

So it infects your files, then spreads to your Facebook friends, filling their inboxes with the same enticing video message.

Clampitt says, "I've had 3 to 4 people on my Facebook send me a message and say i couldn't open it - what is it? I've emailed them back and said don't open it!"

Clute says the best thing you can do if you accidentally click on the link, shut down your system, change all of your passwords, and call an expert.

Clute says this is most definitely not the last we will see of the Koobface virus, with the popularity of Facebook, he says there are new variations of the virus coming out all of the time.

One thing he did add, he has not seen a MacIntosh with the virus.
