Dan and I went out early in the boat today, and did a little snorkeling, hoping to beat the crowds. And we did. YAY!

Omg!!
We're about to grill hamburgers and we've got the ice cream freezer going....and going....and not freezing the vanilla cream liquid inside anytime soon. Then we'll watch The Capital Fourth. That has become a tradition for us. Too dang hot to go outside. |

Yeah, that thing is so hysterical. It's a pontoon boat, all rigged up, and it's got one 35 horse-power engine! I like that ladder taken from a pool on
the back too. What a gas!
I hear ya on the heat factor...and there are wayyy too many skeeters and no-see-ums, too. We watch the neighbors' displays, looking out the window from our couch.

No telling how long he has had that boat and keeps adding additions to it. Lots of grills and coolers ... he is ready. I think it is very cool. Not sure
about safe, but definitely cool!

pvc penthouse...lolol very fun looks like a full bar on float we (kehli and i) had a fun afternoon and eve went over to some friends helped prepare some stuff (cut up fruit salad and veggie platters) and ATE they live across from the college and that's where the fireworks are lit view of views of the live show ... one of my fav parts? kehli WATCHING the fireworks in the backyard with us all (about 24 peeps incl. kids) i wish i had a pic of her eyes aimed at the sky i think she may be somewhat 'used to' the noise from hearing them 10 nights in a row @ the end of the summer for the county fair which happens about 1 mi from where i live what a pup! glad you all had a fun day hope it was a BLAST! love rona and kehli

What an awesome pup! Fireworks is one thing that dogs have a hard time tolerating, my old german shepherd, Teddy, used to go berserk to get into the house and
our four year old, Daisy, hides under one of the beds.

my other two dogs i've had have been SO afraid of the noise and the fireworks i did do training with her and one of the things she had to pass was not spooking at some loud noises she passed i guess it's also like one of those things where the beauty wins over the 'fraidy/scardy-cat' part like having a fear of heights but riding the ski lift and focusing on the VIEW (rather than the FEAR) amazing anyway xoxoxooxoxxoox.... u're WELCOME here anytime love rona

My first hub and I had a blonde Afghan hound way back when, who was petrified of the fireworks on the 4th. One year we took her with us over to the
brother-in-law's house. Once the fireworks started, she ran to hide in his garage, knocking an opened can of marine oil all over her. I had to wash her
every day for nearly a month until I finally got all the gook totally off of her. Marine oil is THICK and an Afghan's hair is like a duck - you could stand
her under a hose for ten minutes, and then lift up an inch worth of hair and it would be totally dry underneath.
Glad Kehli isn't a fraidy-cat!
