Posts: 13 (07/16/09 07:44:01) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Tags : None okay, i'm just starting to do my research & not entirely sure which direction to go. so i'm hoping some of you will share your opinions . . . i want/need some erich time & i'm trying to figure out where i should go/which training or workshop or whatever to do. feathered pipe sounds aaawesome - especially since they house and feed you. i'd also love to do the training & love love to be in california (have not been since i was a kid - so would love to experience it as an adult.) the problem with cali is finances (sheesh! i'm a yoga teacher - c'mon, i'm broke!), but if that's where i need to be, i'll just have to start scrimping! regardless of what or where - it won't happen until next year - but i need to start the planning process. so what i want to know from those of you who've been there and done that is . . . if you could only do one thing, what would it be? where would you go? training or workshop? love and light, rebecca

I haven;t taken the training but have been to the studio that erich teaches at.......and have been to feathered pipe.....you need to compare expenses and decide which one. MT is beautiful....the ranch is beautiful....it quiet and all nature....you will bond with most all there.... at the studio its in town....lots of hustle and bustle...but its fun....so if you prefer CA beach to MT countryside... weigh which suits you.... good luck on your decision.... sandy We do not need to be the same, or think the same But we can hold hands as fellow travelers in this life.

That being said, I vote for the TT...wayyyyyyyy more Erich time. It's a great set-up of 10 days, with a four-hour block in the middle of the day, so you have the hours around it to explore Venice and Santa Monica. Awesome, awesome, awesome experience. Start scrimping.....and don't forget to tell those folks who ask what you want for your birthday or Christmas or whatever, that you are saving in earnest for this dream. (well, assuming that it will happen again in 2010) so that or TT. for those of you who've done the TT, my biggest concern is transportation . . . is there somewhere walking distance to stay? or would i need a vehicle? is there a thread somewhere that talks about all this?

Posts: 4807 (07/17/09 07:03:31) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	hi rebecca. i did erich's TT in 2006 at exhale in venice. i stayed at the venice admiral suites on navy street. great place to stay, AND it is literally right around the corner from the studio... about a 5 minute walk. there is also a nice health food store that is just as close. i believe all of the rooms at the hotel have a kitchen. so i cooked some to cut down on expenses. and, i took a "super shuttle" to and from the airport, so there was no need to rent a car. the set up was perfect! also.... if you tell the hotel that you are in town to study at exhale, they will give you a discount. it isn't huge, but every little bit helps! sit down before facts like a child, and be prepared to give up every preconceived notion, follow humbly wherever and to whatever abysses nature leads, or you shall learn nothing. - thomas huxley

Administrator Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	i have not been to FP but can also vouch for the TT as being incredible i did mine in santa barbara in 2002 however i live about 30 min south of there so that's why i chose SB instead of Venice both locations are beautiful and beach towns and fab. you might get some extra perks being in venice though...as that's home base for Erichji. without having been, i'm sure FP is amazing but it's also more expensive both i'm sure worth each and every penny. love rona (if u do come out here though i get to see u again!) Thinking about how to manage to get to a workshop/TT myself. I'm glad to see you here. Rona, I was wondering about the differences between Venice & Santa Barbara, so thanks for the info...I imagine a car would be needed in SB, even to get from the airport?

Posts: 2756 (07/18/09 04:43:16) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Rebecca and Amy, Over several years I have been to FPR, took the TT in SB, and got to visit Exhale and attend a class. I would recommend the TT over FPR for a couple of reasons. As beautiful as it is at the ranch it is difficult to get to, and I think that is from just about anywhere. Limited flights difficult. The TT is 10 days instead of 7 and the time together during TT ... well, I am limited in my ability to find words to share the experience in writing. Just know for me it was life changing and what I learned surfaces in many places in my life, not just in teaching yoga classes. Our TT in SB was one of the most amazing life experiences I have had. Terri and I attended together so costs were shared. We did have a car and rented a house, but there are beautiful places to stay within walking distance of the studio in SB. The next time though I am going to the studio and experience Venice Beach for more than a day. The energy I experienced there was cool. I think Darlene's hotel choice and shuttle is what I will do when the timing is right. Close you eyes, get still and quiet and listen ... the answer is out there waiting for you to hear it. Either choice will be a good one. r

Posts: 1397 (07/19/09 07:13:13) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	I've done both.. and I'd say do the TT first.. especially if you are a teacher In addition to the training itself, the written materials that Erich has gathered into the manual are priceless, and I still read through them all the time.You will get the whole experience of what Erich's teaching is all about and what his influences were.. and then, if you got to FP later ( as I did) you can just let it soak in in that amazing atmosphere up there...

She writes, Oh, btw, some friends of mine have a beautiful rental guest house just a block or two from Exhale right near me - maybe you'd like to tell your out-of-town students about it if they're looking for a place to stay. This place accommodates 6 or more very comfortably, huge kitchen, beautiful garden, laundry, etc. Most of their guests so far have been from England, Switzerland, Australia... Here's the link if you want to pass it along. The virtual tour is nice.
