Hi all,

Unfortuantely, we are not able to tell at this point whether we are going to make it this year. It is not looking so good for a couple of reasons.. the most unnerving is that my teacher's union, which has been without a contract for four years, has been locked in a very nasty standoff with the schoolboard and it is very likely that there is a strike in our near future.... we authorized the negotiating team to call a strike in June and there has been no progress since then. I can't talk about this on Facebook, for obvious reasons. Although our right to strike is limited in PA it will cause financial hardship and play havoc with the school calendar. The other thing is that my kids' concert is the Monday after the gathering,  and it is too far ahead of time to tell if taking off that Friday would conflict with rehearsal schedule for my chorus. So although it's not out of the question, it's not looking great and I definitely can't plan for it yet. :-( 

I miss all of you, and if we don't make it in person, we will be there in spirit, as always.

Hey Guys,

Sad to report it is definite we are not going to be in Texas this time around.. just bad timing. We did go out on strike for 8 days... as per PA law, we are back to work now and in non-binding arbitration...but as the school board has stated that they have no intention of negotating, no way no how, we will have to walk again for 2 more weeks sometime this spring. Finances being what they are, the airfare etc. for the two of us is not doable.  I hope we can hook up a Skype thingie, that would be great. Erichji, we are hoping we can make it to one of your other east coast appearances in 2012.
